About this role

What skills and experience we're looking for

Oak Learning Partnership is seeking an ambitious and compassionate Head of School to provide visible, day-to-day leadership of our Alternative Provision school. Operating at Deputy Headteacher level, under the strategic direction of the Executive Headteacher and Director of Inclusion, you will lead school improvement and ensure pupils receive a safe, high-quality, personalised education that helps them re-engage with learning and achieve positive next steps. You will lead teaching and learning, curriculum delivery, safeguarding, behaviour and attendance, creating a calm, inclusive environment where trauma-informed and relational approaches sit alongside high expectations. The role also includes daily school operations, developing and supporting staff, and building strong partnerships with families, referring schools and external agencies to remove barriers to pupils’ progress and wellbeing. We are looking for a qualified teacher with successful senior leadership experience and a proven record of improving provision and pupil outcomes. You will bring a strong understanding of safeguarding, SEND and inclusive practice, alongside the ability to motivate teams and combine warmth and compassion with clear accountability. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to pupils whose previous experiences of education may have been challenging, while contributing to Oak Learning Partnership’s inclusive mission.
