About this role
Make your mark as a Senior Brand Planner in the Creative & Marketing sector, based in Southampton.
Brand planning has changed shape over the last few years. Clients want strategy that holds up across channels, not just a deck that looks good in a pitch. This is an established name in Creative & Marketing, the kind of organisation that's been trusted with big-budget accounts for years and has the structure to prove it. They're looking for a Senior Brand Planner who can bring rigour to that process and hold their own in the room with senior stakeholders.
Here's what you'll be doing
Lead brand strategy development for a portfolio of established client accounts
Translate research and market data into planning frameworks that creative teams can actually use
Present strategic recommendations directly to clients and senior internal stakeholders
Brief creative and account teams on positioning, audience insight and campaign direction
Track brand performance post-launch and adjust strategy based on what the numbers show
Mentor junior planners and contribute to wider planning best practice across the team
Here are the skills you'll need
Several years' experience in brand planning or strategy, agency-side or in-house
Confident presenting to clients, including pushback in the room and thinking on your feet
Strong grasp of research methodologies and how to turn data into a usable strategy
Sharp writing skills. Briefs and decks need to be clear, not clever for the sake of it
Comfortable working within established frameworks while still finding room to add original thinking
A collaborative streak. You'll be working closely with creative, account and client teams daily
Key perks and benefits
Salary of £33,500 to £49,500, depending on experience
Hybrid working, with flexibility built around Southampton office days
Private medical and dental insurance
Enhanced pension scheme and performance-based bonuses
A comprehensive benefits package and clear, structured career development
Why pursue a career in Creative & Marketing?
Creative & Marketing keeps growing because brands can't afford to stand still, and good planners are the ones who make sense of that noise for clients. Southampton has built a genuine cluster of agencies and in-house teams over the last decade, so a Senior Brand Planner role here isn't a step away from the action. It's a career that rewards people who can think clearly and back it up with evidence, and progression tends to follow quickly once you've proven that.
This Senior Brand Planner opportunity is brought to you by The Opportunity Hub UK.
