About this role
Perfect role for a senior professional looking to grow their Property & Construction career in Birmingham.
Birmingham's construction sector is in the middle of a sustained build-out, from major infrastructure to commercial and residential schemes across the city and its surrounding boroughs. An established name in Property & Construction, with a workforce of 250 or more and a track record on large-scale developments, is now looking for a Senior Site Manager to take ownership of delivery on site. This is a business with structured career paths and proper frameworks in place, not one making it up as it goes.
Here's what you'll be doing
Running day-to-day site operations for large-scale construction projects across Birmingham, keeping programme, budget and quality on track
Managing subcontractors and site teams, coordinating trades so work sequences without costly delays
Enforcing health and safety standards on site, including inductions, RAMS review and regular audits
Liaising with project managers, clients and design teams to resolve issues before they become problems
Monitoring progress against programme and reporting variances, risks and mitigation plans to senior leadership
Overseeing quality control and snagging, making sure work meets specification and building regulations
Here are the skills you'll need
Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager on large construction projects
SMSTS and CSCS certification (Black card level), with a First Aid qualification
Strong working knowledge of building regulations, NEC or JCT contracts, and construction methodology
Confident leadership style. You'll need to manage large teams and keep multiple subcontractors pulling in the same direction
Sharp problem-solving instincts and the ability to make decisions under pressure
Clear communication skills, both on site and in reporting to senior stakeholders
Key perks and benefits
£45,000 to £58,500, depending on experience
Comprehensive benefits package including private medical and dental insurance
Enhanced pension scheme and performance-based bonuses
Office-based role in Birmingham, working alongside an established delivery team
Structured career development within a business that promotes from within
Why pursue a career in Property & Construction?
Property & Construction rewards people who can actually deliver, not just talk about it. Birmingham remains one of the busiest construction markets outside London, with major regeneration and infrastructure work keeping demand for experienced site leadership high. A Senior Site Manager who builds a strong reputation here can expect steady progression into senior operational or project director roles.
