About this role
An exceptional opportunity for a mid-level Construction Project Manager to shape the future of Property & Construction in Cardiff.
Cardiff's skyline is changing fast, and the firms driving that change need people who can keep a site moving without losing sight of the budget. This is a young, fast-growing business in Property & Construction, built around a flat structure and a genuine appetite for doing things differently. No layers of committee sign-off here. You'll be trusted to make calls, and you'll see the results of those calls on-site within weeks, not years.
Here's what you'll be doing
Running residential and commercial projects across Cardiff from planning through to handover
Coordinating contractors, subcontractors and suppliers so schedules actually hold
Managing budgets and cost reports, flagging variances before they become problems
Chairing site meetings and translating technical detail into plain updates for stakeholders
Monitoring health and safety compliance across every active site
Resolving delays and design clashes on the spot, often without waiting for someone else's approval
Here are the skills you'll need
Solid experience managing construction projects from a Property & Construction background, ideally 3-5 years in
Working knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts
Comfortable reading technical drawings and specifications without hand-holding
Sharp communication skills. You'll be the link between site teams, clients and leadership
A calm head under pressure. Sites rarely go exactly to plan
SMSTS or equivalent health and safety qualification (or a willingness to obtain one quickly)
Key perks and benefits
£38,000 to £48,500, depending on experience
Equity in a business that's still early enough for it to mean something
Flexible working hours around core site needs
Learning and development budget to build toward chartered status
Office-based role in Cardiff, working alongside a team that actually talks to each other
Why pursue a career in Property & Construction?
Wales has a growing pipeline of residential and mixed-use development, and Cardiff sits right at the centre of it. Good Construction Project Managers are hard to find and easy to promote once they've proven themselves, so the ceiling here is real. Few sectors let you point at a finished building and say you made that happen.
