About this role

As a Bank Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children and young people referred to Child Development Centre services. Working autonomously and as part of multidisciplinary teams, you will manage highly complex cases, using specialist knowledge and evidence-based practice to support clinical decision-making and deliver effective packages of care. You will work closely with families, carers, educational settings, health colleagues, social care partners and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to care. The role requires excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, particularly when discussing complex and sensitive clinical information. The successful candidate will contribute to the clinical leadership of the service by supporting service transformation, participating in audits and research activities, reviewing evidence-based practice and helping to develop innovative approaches to service delivery. You will also support the supervision and development of other staff, contribute to training programmes and promote high standards of professional practice throughout the service. This role requires extensive experience of working with children and young people with developmental disorders and delays, alongside strong skills in clinical reasoning, multidisciplinary working and safeguarding practice. The ability to travel independently across Birmingham is essential. As this is a Bank position, shifts will be offered according to service requirements and the successful candidate's availability. Bank workers do not hold a substantive permanent post and are not guaranteed regular hours.
