Are you warm, confident, practical and someone who enjoys doing things a little differently?

I’m a 47-year-old alternative, slightly eccentric and fiercely independent woman who appreciates individuality, creativity and style. I live in a relaxed, bohemian household and I’m looking for a female PA to help me get the most out of life.

I live with Fibromyalgia and Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS), which means my joints can dislocate unexpectedly and everyday activities can leave me exhausted or put strain on my body. With the right support, I can maintain as much independence as possible.

This is much more than a traditional care role. I’m looking for someone kind, confident, adaptable and respectful who will work alongside me and help me continue doing the things I enjoy — from getting out and about and spending time in the garden, to attending social events, courses and activities.

Dogs are an important part of my life, so you must be confident and comfortable around dogs. I currently have a puppy who is being trained with the intention of becoming an assistance dog, so you’ll need to be happy around a young, energetic dog and comfortable being involved in their day-to-day life.

You’ll also need to be a confident driver, as the role involves driving my car when required, including helping with my folding wheelchair.

✨ Duties include

  • Home & personal care
  • Laundry and changing/making beds
  • Taking bins out and general practical support
  • Assistance with bathing/showering, drying and hair care when required
  • Help getting in and out of the bath/shower and bed
  • Assistance with wheelchair transfers when required
  • Supporting me with physiotherapy exercises
  • Assistance changing at the swimming pool/gym
  • Collecting medication from the pharmacy
  • Family & everyday life
  • Supporting with parenting tasks as and when needed
  • Helping with practical tasks I cannot safely manage myself

🚗 Getting out and about

  • Driving me in my car when required
  • Lifting my folding wheelchair in/out of the car and pushing it when needed
  • Accompanying me to appointments, meetings, courses, workshops and social events
  • Day trips such as the beach, garden centre and other leisure activities
  • Driving me to/from friends’ homes and helping with luggage when staying away

🐾 Dog support

  • Walking my dog
  • Being confident and comfortable around a puppy
  • Being happy to support a dog who is being trained as an assistance dog

🌸 The person I’m looking for

You should be kind, patient, reliable, practical and open-minded, with respect for my independence and personal boundaries. You’ll need to be comfortable with personal care, physical assistance, driving and dogs.

No two days are necessarily the same — one day might involve laundry and helping around the house, while another could mean a trip to the beach, an art course, swimming or walking the dog.

If you’re someone who enjoys individuality, variety and making a genuine difference to someone’s life, I’d love to hear from you🌿🐾
