About this role
The Digital Implementation Manager will provide senior leadership for a portfolio of primary care EPR implementations across South East London and other London ICBs. The postholder will be accountable for coordinating delivery from initiation and readiness assessment through to go-live, hypercare and transition into business-as-usual support. The role requires significant autonomy, strong programme management expertise and the ability to influence stakeholders across organisational boundaries. The postholder will ensure that implementation decisions are evidence-based and that patient safety, service continuity, information governance and value for money remain central to delivery. Job responsibilities Lead a portfolio of concurrent GP practice implementations, developing integrated plans, priorities, milestones and measurable outcomes. Coordinate discovery, data preparation, system configuration, testing, training, cutover, go-live, hypercare and handover activities. Establish and assure implementation readiness standards, reviewing evidence and making recommendations at formal readiness and go-live decision points. Manage delivery risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and escalations, implementing recovery plans where required. Coordinate deployment sequencing, capacity planning, resource allocation and interdependent workstreams across multiple practices. Monitor supplier performance, milestones, deliverables, expenditure and value for money. Establish robust programme controls, maintain accurate documentation and provide progress reports, dashboards, exception reports and assurance updates to senior governance forums. Develop effective working relationships with GP partners, practice managers, Primary Care Networks, clinical leaders, operational teams, suppliers and system partners. Lead implementation meetings, workshops and readiness reviews, resolving complex issues and securing agreement across organisations. Work with London-wide and national technical teams to support the timely delivery of system integrations and interoperability requirements. Ensure compliance with relevant information governance, data protection, cyber security, clinical safety and records management requirements. Provide leadership, guidance and support to implementation teams and multidisciplinary colleagues, promoting accountability, inclusion and continuous improvement. Capture lessons learned and contribute to implementation standards, guidance, evaluation and benefits tracking. Monitor programme funding and support reporting requirements relating to funding provided by NHS England. Ensure that patient safety, continuity of care and access to primary care services remain central to implementation planning and decision-making.
