About this role
What skills and experience we're looking for
Candidates must have grade 6 (B) GCSE in English and mathematics or a Level 3 qualification. An A Level or a degree is an advantage but not essential, as is some experience of working in an educational setting. Regular training will be provided, but the ability to prioritise, manage time effectively, and take initiatives is vital for the role. The successful candidate will be self-driven and a strong team player. They will have a buy-in the school’s mission and vision.
What the school offers its staff
The successful candidate will be deployed in a Year group to support the learning of pupils as directed by the classteacher. The key stage in which they will work will be negotiated on appointment. Some experience of teaching in a similar setting is desirable but not essential. Full-training will be provided by the school and the successful candidate will have regular, weekly in-house training on different aspects of teaching and learning. The post-holder will be required to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:35 AM to 4:35 PM, depending on the needs of the school. The post-holder will work during term-time (plus an additional week in Easter if required by the school). Candidates must have good communication and interpersonal skills. Being able to work as part of a team while being driven by own initiative is essential.
Commitment to safeguarding
Bigland Green Primary is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will require an enhanced DBS clearance. We are dedicated to equality and valuing diversity.
