About this role

Provide an efficient, effective and high-quality administrative and reception service within the Cardiology Department, in accordance with NHS, Trust and departmental policies and procedures. Act as a professional and welcoming first point of contact for patients, relatives, carers and visitors, providing appropriate non-clinical information and responding to queries sensitively and efficiently. Coordinate patient appointments, maintaining booking systems, databases and appointment diaries, and ensure patients receive accurate and timely appointment information. Make appropriate adjustments to appointments and schedules in response to clinical requirements and day-to-day service changes. Receive, process and distribute departmental post and correspondence, ensuring information is handled accurately, confidentially and within appropriate timescales. Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date patient records, clinical documentation and administrative information in line with information governance requirements. Ensure the Cardiology reception and administrative areas are safe, organised, clean and welcoming, reporting any faults, hazards or environmental concerns appropriately. Monitor office and departmental supplies, maintain accurate stock records, raise requisitions and support the receipt and distribution of deliveries. Collect, maintain and update departmental activity data, statistics and administrative records, ensuring confidentiality is maintained. Work collaboratively with the wider Cardiology team to support effective patient pathways, service delivery and the continuous improvement of administrative processes.
