(Y) Our Opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated Secondary Operations & Business Manager who brings energy, heart, and purpose to our team at Chichester High School, someone ready to lead non-teaching operations and empower our school community every single day.

In our Trust, an Operations & Business Manager is far more than an administrator; you are a strategic leader and key architect in driving operational excellence, ensuring our resources directly support outstanding learning outcomes. We are seeking an empathetic, proactive leader who can manage key functions across estates, facilities, finance, and people operations, creating an environment where both staff and pupils thrive.

Whether you have extensive experience managing school operations and finances, a background in MAT business management, or proven success in leading complex operational teams, your talent will be valued here. In our community, non-teaching leaders are vital partners in driving educational standards, maintaining high compliance, and fostering a strong sense of belonging.

Together, let’s optimize our resources, maintain vibrant and safe environments, and ensure every child gets their chance to shine.

The ideal Secondary Operations & Business

Manager will be someone who

  • Serves as a trusted strategic advisor to the Headteacher, managing academy budgets, forecasting, and financial compliance in line with the Academy Trust Handbook.
  • Leads and develops non-teaching teams including Premises and Administration, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and accountability.
  • Oversees estates, facilities, and health & safety compliance to ensure a safe, secure, and inspiring learning environment.
  • Manages local HR and People operations across the employee lifecycle, ensuring smooth payroll reconciliation, accurate MIS data, and robust Single Central Record (SCR) compliance.
  • Drives operational efficiency, procurement value, and community engagement, including marketing and premises lettings.
  • Is adaptable, resilient, and deeply committed to contributing to the wider life and strategic vision of the school and Trust.
