Key accountabilities

Data Pipelines and ETL

• Design and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform and load data from multiple sources.
• Optimise data pipelines using orchestration tools for smooth data flow.
• Implement monitoring and recovery to maintain data integrity.

Cloud Services

• Build and manage data solutions on Azure (Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory).
• Ensure systems are scalable, reliable and high-performing.

Collaboration

• Partner with data consumers to deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Share knowledge and promote best practices within the team.

Data Governance and Quality

• Apply governance standards and maintain data quality and security.
• Document processes and enforce best practices.

Data Landscape

• Understand modern data architecture principles (e.g., Data Lakes, medallion architecture).
• Support reporting and analytics, including integration with Power BI.

Skills & experience

Skills and Experience Required

Experience in data engineering, including ETL design and implementation.

Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.

Hands-on experience with Azure data services (Synapse, Data Lake, Data Factory).

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Good communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable Skills

Familiarity with data governance and quality frameworks.

Experience in financial services or similar regulated environments.

Knowledge of additional data engineering tools and technologies.
