About this role

As a Band 5 Paediatric Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for delivering specialist physiotherapy services to children and young people across Somerset. Working within the Children and Young People's Therapy Service, you will assess physical, sensory and functional needs, formulate clinical diagnoses and provide effective interventions that support mobility, independence and participation in everyday activities. You will gather information from a variety of sources to inform clinical decision-making and develop evidence-based treatment plans tailored to the individual needs of each child. You will actively involve children, young people and their families in goal setting, care planning and therapeutic interventions, ensuring a family-centred approach to care. The role involves working collaboratively with schools, nurseries, healthcare colleagues and external agencies to support the delivery of integrated care pathways. You will contribute to multidisciplinary assessments, attend review meetings and provide professional reports relating to children's physical development and functional abilities. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate clinical documentation, monitoring outcomes and providing statistical information as required. The post holder will also contribute to service development, quality improvement projects, audit and research activities, helping to shape and enhance services for children and young people. The successful candidate will hold a recognised degree in Physiotherapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Experience of working with children is essential, together with excellent communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills. A commitment to multidisciplinary working, professional development and delivering compassionate, person-centred care is key to success in this role. The role includes travel across Somerset to clinics, schools, community settings and family homes. Therefore, applicants must be able to meet the travel requirements of the post. Join Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and help make a real difference to the lives of children, young people and their families through high-quality, integrated therapy services.
