Painter and Decorator

About The Role

Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday 7am - 3.30pm

Key Responsibilities

· Perform internal and external painting of building fabrics including walls, ceilings, doors, and structural elements.

· Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming as required.

· Operate access equipment safely and efficiently (IPAF certification required).

· Conduct routine inspections and touch-ups to maintain site standards.

· Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams to minimize disruption.

· Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.

· Adhere to site hygiene, safety, and environmental policies.

Requirements

· Time-served painter with proven experience in industrial or commercial environments.

· IPAF certification – essential for working at height.

· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

· Strong awareness of health and safety practices.

· Good communication and teamwork skills.

· NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Painting & Decorating (desirable).

· Knowledge of various painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing methods.

· Experience working in occupied properties and managing customer expectations.

· Familiarity with COSHH and safe handling of materials.

Desirable

· Basic understanding of other building maintenance tasks (e.g., plastering, minor repairs).
