We're looking for part-time Outreach Tutors and Teaching Assistants to work with pupils across north Cambridge (CB4) and nearby. Each session is spent with one pupil or a small group, helping them with their learning outside a mainstream classroom. You can take morning sessions, afternoon sessions or both, Monday to Friday. Because sessions are held at different venues, a car is essential. We're setting up interviews and site visits straight away, so get in touch today.
About the Provision
This Cambridge-based provision offers tutoring and outreach to pupils who need support beyond a typical school timetable. Work is planned pupil by pupil, aiming to rebuild confidence and keep young people learning.
What You'll Be Doing
- Travelling between outreach venues in and around Cambridge
- Running tutoring sessions with individual pupils or small groups
- Working alongside teaching staff to set activities at the right level for each pupil
- Supporting pupils to settle into a routine and engage with their work
- Recording brief notes after each session and sharing progress updates
What You'll Need
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own car (essential)
- Previous experience supporting children or young people, eg. as a TA, tutor or support worker
- Availability for mornings, afternoons or both, Monday to Friday
- The confidence to lead short activities with a pupil on your own
- A relevant qualification is welcome but not essential
You'll be calm, reliable and organised, with plenty of patience for pupils who need time to settle.
