About this role
Full-time or Part-time | Immediate start
Are you passionate about helping children learn, explore and discover the world around them?
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our team at our Montessori nursery in Calderdale.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who loves working with young children, values their individuality and wants to be part of a setting where learning is meaningful, purposeful and full of exciting experiences.
What makes our nursery special?
We offer children much more than a traditional nursery environment. Our Montessori approach encourages independence, curiosity, concentration and a lifelong love of learning.
Our children benefit from an inspiring environment that includes
Montessori classrooms with carefully prepared resources that encourage independent learning.
Extensive outdoor spaces where children can explore nature and develop new skills.
An allotment, pond and opportunities to learn about growing, wildlife and the natural world.
Chickens and other nursery animals that help children develop responsibility and care for living things.
An educational dome used for exciting, themed learning experiences.
Opportunities to explore maths, science, language, creativity and problem-solving through real-life experiences.
We want our practitioners to be curious, enthusiastic educators who enjoy creating memorable learning opportunities and supporting children to become confident, independent learners.
Safeguarding and safer recruitment
The safety and wellbeing of our children are our highest priority. All staff are expected to uphold our safeguarding policies and procedures and promote the welfare of every child in our care.
About the role
You will
Provide high-quality care, education and learning experiences for young children.
Support children's individual development, interests and next steps.
Help maintain an engaging, well-prepared Montessori environment.
Plan and support meaningful learning experiences indoors and outdoors.
Build warm, positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Support children's safety, wellbeing and safeguarding at all times.
Work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
What we are looking for
You will
Hold a recognised, full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
Have a genuine passion for working with young children.
Be caring, reliable, enthusiastic and committed to high-quality early education.
Have good communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
Be willing to develop your understanding of Montessori education and practice.
Montessori experience would be an advantage, but a willingness to learn is just as important.
What we offer
Full-time or part-time hours to suit the successful candidate and our staffing requirements.
Pay at the applicable minimum wage or above, depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
The opportunity to develop your Montessori knowledge and professional skills.
A varied role with opportunities to learn across our unique indoor and outdoor provision.
The chance to make a genuine difference to children's lives every day.
Salary
Negotiable depending on experience, with at least the applicable National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage.
The successful applicant will be required to
Undergo an enhanced DBS check, including a children's barred list check where legally applicable to the role.
Provide satisfactory references, including employment references where appropriate.
Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding, child protection and safer working practices.
Meet all relevant safer recruitment and suitability requirements for working in an early years setting.
A current paediatric first aid certificate meeting the applicable EYFS requirements is desirable. Applicants without a current certificate may be considered, subject to the setting's staffing requirements and the training arrangements available.
Appointment will be subject to satisfactory safer recruitment checks and verification of qualifications and employment history, as appropriate.
