About this role

What skills and experience we're looking for

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people; therefore, all positions are offered subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure and references confirming your suitability to work with children.

At Pear Tree Infant and Nursery School we pride ourselves as being a vibrant and diverse community that works closely with parents as partners. We are passionate in promoting an ethos of mutual respect and high expectations for all children. We ensure that learning is fun, active and challenging.

The Governing body and Head Teacher are extremely proud of the school community and are seeking to appoint a PPA/Cover teacher. We welcome applications from teachers who are passionate and sensitive to the needs of working with children from Normanton. Applications from ECT’s will not be considered, due to the nature of the cover post.

The post requires a teacher who can work as part of an effective, dedicated and committed team. The successful candidate will have high aspirations and be proactive in facilitating quality first learning opportunities for all key groups of children.

We are looking for a teacher who

  • Inspires and enthuses all key groups of children to aim high.
  • Has a secure subject knowledge of the Early Years and KS1 curriculum.
  • Is proactive in following research led practice to extend continued professional development.
  • Works in close collaboration with colleagues as a valued member of a team.
  • Offers children creative learning opportunities.

What the school offers its staff

We are proud to offer

  • Children who are enthusiastic to learn, grow and extend their learning experiences.
  • A staff who are passionate about continued professional development and growth as a school community.
  • A committed and supportive senior leadership team who are committed to staff wellbeing.
  • Parents who are valued partners in helping every child aim high.
  • An inclusive setting which excels in the provision for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children.
  • A happy school which embraces diversity.

From November 2026, our staff and children will be working in a brand-new, purpose-built school building, designed to enhance learning, creativity, and wellbeing. This state-of-the-art environment will provide modern classrooms, inspiring learning spaces, and facilities that support our commitment to high-quality education for every child.
