For some young people, success might mean completing a learning activity independently.
For others, it could be communicating a need, joining a group activity or managing a difficult transition.
These achievements matter, and the right support can help make them possible.
We're looking for an Additional Needs Learning Support Practitioner to join a specialist educational setting in Truro, helping children and young people develop confidence, independence and the skills they need to succeed.
You'll work with pupils who may have autism, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, sensory needs or communication challenges.
Your role will involve
-
Providing personalised 1
1 and small-group support.
- Breaking learning activities into manageable steps.
- Encouraging pupils to develop independence.
- Supporting communication and social interaction.
- Helping young people regulate emotions.
- Adapting resources to different learning styles.
- Supporting classroom activities and educational visits.
- Working closely with teachers and SEND professionals.
- Monitoring and celebrating individual progress.
We're interested in candidates with experience supporting children, young people or individuals with additional needs.
You could come from education, care, youth services, SEND support or a similar background.
You'll need excellent communication skills, patience, flexibility and a genuine interest in helping young people develop.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, is required.
This full-time, term-time opportunity offers competitive pay, ongoing professional development and valuable experience within specialist education.
You'll work alongside experienced professionals while developing practical skills that could support a longer-term career in SEND.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All successful applicants will be subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and relevant safeguarding procedures.
Apply today and help young people in Truro achieve milestones that really matter.
