Highways Engineer

What's involved with this role

Triumph Consultants are seeking an experienced Highways Engineer for their client to deliver highways maintenance schemes from initial investigation through to construction and completion. This is an immediate-start contract, initially for 6 months with potential for a long-term assignment.

£34.35 per hour PAYE

37 Monday - Friday

Hybrid working

Minimum expectation of three days per week in the office.

Key Requirements

Highways maintenance experience delivering schemes on existing road networks.

Relevant engineering qualification, such as a degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Design and technical skills, including preparing specifications, bills of quantities and tender documents.

Site experience, including levelling, site measurements and construction supervision.

Project management skills with the ability to manage schemes independently from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Investigate highway issues and identify suitable maintenance solutions.

Prepare designs and technical documents for highways maintenance schemes.

Produce tender documents, specifications and bills of quantities.

Support construction works by carrying out site visits, setting-out and responding to technical queries.

Manage schemes from start to finish, ensuring successful delivery and completion.
