About the Role

We’re recruiting friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Ward Hosts and Catering Assistants to support our hospital catering service in the SA33 5NE area.

You’ll help provide patients with a positive mealtime experience by serving food and drinks, delivering meals to wards and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and patient care.

12:00pm–8:00pm

Flexibility to work across a seven-day operation, including weekends, is essential. Please confirm your availability when applying.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and drinks in line with patients’ dietary requirements.
• Deliver meals, snacks and beverages to hospital wards.
• Check meal orders to ensure patients receive the correct food.
• Assist with meal service, clearing away and washing up.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to patients and healthcare staff.
• Clean and sanitise catering equipment and service areas.
• Follow food safety, allergen management and infection control procedures.
• Comply with health and safety, COSHH and manual handling requirements.
• Work closely with ward staff and catering colleagues to ensure a smooth service.

What We’re Looking For

• A friendly, caring and customer-focused attitude.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• A reliable, punctual and hardworking approach.
• The ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.
• Previous catering, hospitality or customer service experience is desirable.
• Suitable footwear for the role.
• An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one.
