Senior Technician, Biomedical Sciences

To support the delivery of high-quality, practice-based learning, research and innovation, we’re looking for a Senior Technician to provide specialist technical expertise and hands-on support in the disciplines of biochemistry and food chemistry. As part of a technical support team, you’ll contribute to enabling students and staff to carry out safe, effective, and innovative practical work using specialist equipment and software in the school’s learning and teaching laboratories.

You’ll lead the way by

Provide technical support for biochemistry and food chemistry themed practical classes, including the preparation of solutions and materials.

Liaise with academic leads on the practical class scheduling and content and support validation and preparatory tests on methods as and when required.

To introduce, explain and provide on-going advice and support training in the use of laboratory equipment to members of staff, students and visitors.

To contribute to the routine statutory monthly checks of equipment in the teaching laboratories.
