Supporting the day-to-day operation of a busy team, you'll help deliver high-quality services to care providers and Direct Payment recipients, while developing colleagues, improving processes and helping to ensure the smooth running of a service that supports some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.

What you’ll do

• Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of your area, managing workloads and helping the team meet key deadlines.

• Provide supervision, guidance and support to the team, helping colleagues develop their skills and confidence.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with providers, Direct Payment recipients and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

• Resolve complex queries and challenging situations, using effective communication and problem-solving skills to achieve positive outcomes.

• Undertake financial investigations and complex calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

• Review and improve our processes, identifying what works well and using data, evidence and insights to support practical improvements that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the service.

• Support service improvements, performance monitoring and the implementation of new processes, policies and ways of working.

What we’re looking for

• Experience of coordinating workloads, prioritising tasks and managing competing demands to achieve deadlines.

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support, motivate and develop colleagues.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of customers and stakeholders.

• Confidence in handling sensitive, complex or challenging conversations and working towards successful outcomes.

• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret information, undertake detailed financial calculations and investigate issues thoroughly.

• Experience of reviewing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting change initiatives.

• A commitment to delivering excellent customer service, maintaining high standards and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
