KS1 Supply Teacher - Coventry

Your new company

Hays Education work closely with primary schools across Coventry and are looking to recruit KS1 teachers for both short-term and longer-term supply work.

Our schools regularly need teachers to cover planned absences, sickness, maternity leave and longer-term vacancies. We can offer a range of assignments to suit teachers looking for flexibility as well as those who would prefer a more consistent role.

Your new role

As a KS1 Supply Teacher, you will have opportunities to teach across Year 1 and Year 2 in a variety of Coventry schools.

Roles can range from individual day-to-day bookings to regular weekly work and longer-term class teaching positions. Depending on the assignment, you may be delivering pre-planned lessons or taking responsibility for planning, assessment and pupil progress as part of a longer-term placement.

We will take the time to understand the year groups, schools and working patterns that suit you.

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1
• Good knowledge of the KS1 curriculum
• Experience teaching phonics and early reading
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• The ability to quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A reliable and professional approach
