About this role
To maintain strict patient confidentiality when handling sensitive information, ensuring information is managed appropriately during face-to-face interactions, telephone conversations and while dealing with patient records. To provide clear explanations of test procedures to adult and paediatric patients, using reassurance and appropriate interpersonal skills to help reduce fear and gain the patients cooperation during examinations. To demonstrate diplomacy, tact and professionalism when dealing with challenging or difficult patient situations, ensuring interactions are handled sensitively and appropriately both in person and over the telephone. To demonstrate appropriate manual dexterity and manual handling skills when assisting patients with mobility needs, including supporting patients who use wheelchairs while maintaining their safety and dignity. To maintain a high level of concentration when processing diagnostic tests and undertaking detailed tasks, particularly where accuracy and sustained attention are required.
