This is an exciting opportunity to join the Public Health Knowledge and Intelligence Team at Derbyshire County Council, helping to improve population health and reduce inequalities across Derbyshire.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional with excellent communication skills to lead a range of public health knowledge and intelligence programmes. The successful candidate will bring demonstrable specialist knowledge and substantial experience, particularly in applying epidemiological principles and evidence-based approaches to understand population health needs, identify trends and inequalities, and inform decision-making.

Using both quantitative and qualitative data, you will analyse patterns and determinants of health, critically appraise evidence, and translate complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations. You will also contribute to the development and evaluation of policies, services and interventions that improve health outcomes.

The post holder will be required to work across a complex public health, healthcare and social care system, collaborating effectively with a wide range of partner organisations to improve outcomes for the people of Derbyshire.

If you are passionate about public health and epidemiology and want to contribute to our vision for Derbyshire, we would welcome your application.

Applicants are strongly advised to use the criteria in the person specification as sub-headings in their application to clearly demonstrate how they meet each of the selection criteria. Please also refer to the job profile for competencies and a general overview of the role.
