About this role

This is a different job from our London dog-walking advert. We are looking for up to five self-employed pet sitters who can look after a dog in the owner's own home while the owner is away: an overnight stay, a run of daily visits, or both.

WoofWalk is a UK booking app for dog owners. Pet sitting is listed in the app as its own service, separate from walking, so owners looking for holiday cover find you directly. We do not employ you. There is no wage and no guaranteed work. You set your own price for a visit and for a night, you say which dates you are free, and owners book and pay through the app. The money is paid out to your bank.

The work

feeding and fresh water, any medication the owner leaves instructions for, toilet breaks and a walk, company in the evening, and a short update to the owner each day. Overnight stays mean sleeping at the owner's address, so reliability counts for more than experience. If you would rather have dogs stay with you, that is home boarding: it needs a licence from your borough council first, and the app lists it as a separate service.

London has sent us more applicants than any other city, almost all for walking. Sitters who can cover a whole weekend will be the scarce ones.

Terms

nothing to pay to join. No commission for your first 14 days, then 15% of each booking, falling to 10% for life once five of your own clients have joined through you. Your own tax, National Insurance and insurance.

Over 18. Apply on Find a Job with the boroughs you can reach and whether you can do overnights, and we will send the set-up guide.
