About this role

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the regional ‘Train the Trainer’ Faculty within the East Midlands and wider GP School team.

For approximately nine months of the year, the postholder will support the planning, delivery and evaluation of educator development activity, including Train the Trainer courses, refresher sessions and other faculty development programmes. This work is central to maintaining high-quality educational supervision and ensuring that GP trainers and supervisors are well prepared to support GP resident doctors in training.

For the remaining three months of the year, the postholder will provide Training Programme Director (TPD) support to local GP training programmes and/or contribute to ARCP panels. This may include supporting trainee progression, contributing to programme quality management, and working with local educators and programme teams to ensure a positive and consistent training experience.

The posts will be for two sessions (8 hours) a week but the ability to work flexibly (with notice) is essential in this role. The post is expected to commence as soon as possible.

The role of the GP TPD is to work with and support the Primary Care Dean & Heads of School in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions, aligned to the NHS England mandate.

This role will include, amongst other responsibilities

· Delivering educator training for approximately nine months of the year, including three five-day courses, a range of two-day courses, and one-day refresher sessions

· Contributing to the planning, facilitation and evaluation of educator development activity as part of the Train the Trainer Faculty

· Providing TPD support to local GP training programmes for approximately three months of the year

· Supporting ARCP panels as required

· Working collaboratively with colleagues across the GP School to support high-quality education, educator development and trainee progression
