Heritage Portfolio are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team based within the Scottish National Portrait Gallery at Café Portrait.

We are looking for a hardworking, reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our team. The successful candidate will play an key role in keeping the kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly, supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods and helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.

What you'll do

• Washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment efficiently throughout service.
• Operating the dishwasher and ensuring all items are cleaned and stored correctly.
• Keeping kitchen areas, work surfaces, floors and equipment clean and sanitised.
• Assisting with the cleaning of kitchen appliances, fridges and storage areas as required.
• Ensure waste and recycling procedures are followed.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised dishwashing area and kitchen.
• Supporting chefs with basic food preparation tasks as required.
• Receiving deliveries and helping to store stock in the correct locations as required.
• Following all food hygiene, health and safety procedures.
• Ensuring cleaning products and equipment are used and stored safely.
• Assist the Front of House team during busy periods as required.
• Carrying out any other reasonable duties required to support the day-to-day running of the café.

What you'll bring

• Previous kitchen or catering experience is beneficial but not essential
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café and restaurant environment
• Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Flexible availability, including weekends
• Being proactive is key
• Must have the legal right to work in the UK
