About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Tenancy Sustainment Worker to support vulnerable adults who are at risk of homelessness. Working across Cambridge City and South Cambridgeshire, you will provide tailored, person-centred support to help individuals maintain their tenancies, improve their wellbeing and achieve greater independence. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in people's lives by helping them overcome barriers relating to housing, finances, health, employment and social isolation. Support is delivered in people's homes, within the community and through partnership venues across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of clients experiencing housing-related challenges and risk of homelessness.
  • Complete needs and risk assessments and develop personalised support plans.
  • Provide practical and emotional support to help people sustain their accommodation.
  • Support clients with budgeting, benefits, housing issues and access to financial assistance.
  • Promote wellbeing, independence and positive community engagement.
  • Liaise with local authorities, housing providers and external support agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and case management information using electronic systems.
  • Safeguard vulnerable adults and follow all safeguarding procedures.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives and community engagement activities.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and relationship-building skills who are passionate about supporting vulnerable people. The successful candidate will be able to work independently while also contributing positively to a wider team. Essential Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and work on your own initiative.
  • Experience building positive relationships with service users and partner agencies.
  • Good IT and record-keeping skills.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults or individuals with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of housing support services, welfare benefits and homelessness prevention.
  • Understanding of housing legislation and local authority services.
  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care or a related discipline.

Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a service dedicated to preventing homelessness and empowering people to live independently. You'll play a vital role in helping vulnerable individuals develop the skills, resilience and confidence needed to sustain their tenancies and improve their quality of life.
