About this role

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate Community Nursery Nurse to join our Health Visiting Team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, provide enhanced contacts to children and families in line with identified needs, and promote positive health and wellbeing by delivering key public health messages to individuals, families and groups within the community.

The candidate must have the level 3 qualifications in child care. You will be expected to complete developmental checks with children and have excellent communications skills to work with each child and their carers. You will be expected to use your initiative to support families and children using organised planned individual programmes of care to offer enhanced support. You will promote health enhancing activities as part of the Health Visiting team.

Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.

We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people’s own homes and via virtual consultations.
