About this role

The postholder will be expected to consistently demonstrate behaviours aligned to the Trust’s shared commitments, embedding compassion, inclusion, integrity and excellence in their day-to-day practice.

You will be expected to develop the skills needed for patient

care within the peri-operative area.

We are seeking an experienced Band 5 Recovery Nurse/practitioner to join our friendly and dynamic elective theatre team at Chase Farm Hospital, supporting an eight-theatre department delivering a six-day elective surgical service.

The post holder will be responsible for providing safe, high-quality post-anaesthetic care to patients following surgery, including patient assessment, airway management, monitoring vital signs, pain management and recognising and responding to clinical deterioration. You will work closely with anaesthetists, surgeons and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe patient recovery, effective handovers and timely patient flow.

Previous recovery experience is essential, alongside excellent clinical skills, effective communication and the ability to work confidently in a busy, fast-paced environment. We are looking for a motivated, flexible and compassionate nurse/practitioner who is committed to patient safety, high standards of care and effective teamwork.

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s biggest and most innovative trusts. Across four main hospitals, our dedicated army of staff care for over 1.6 million patients, treat more than 200,000 in A&E, deliver over 8,000 babies and carry out more than 17 million tests.

Our size, scale and influence offer you unrivalled career opportunities and a forward-thinking approach to working that works around your lifestyle. From flexible hours and generous benefits, to next level training, we make it easier to take your career to the top.
