Job description
Although this job description is correct at present, it may change from time to time after negotiation with the post holder.
Must have the right to work in the UK to apply for this role, sponsorship not available.
Job purpose
To take me out and about to do new things and provide respite for my mum
About me
I’m a very happy, calm and bubbly 13-year-old girl with a brilliant character who has Pica and a severe learning disability. I love visiting zoos, soft play, trampolining, going for walks and to new places. Although I can get scared, I love to do new things and see new environments. As this can make me feel overwhelmed, you will need to take me aside to a quiet space so I’m able to re-regulate. I’m non-verbal and, though I do know some verbal words, I communicate using a Proloquo2Go. As I have no danger awareness, road safety is vital, and you will need to keep me under constant supervision. This is especially important as, due to having Pica, I will eat non-food items.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Supporting me with personal care
• Taking me out to new places (e.g. going for walks, to zoos etc)
