Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Coordinator role in an Asian food product company. It is a fast-growing importer, wholesaler and distributor specialising in Japanese and Asian food products. They are seeking an organised and responsive Technical Coordinator to support the Technical Manager in maintaining food safety, quality, and compliance standards. The role involves working closely with suppliers, customers and internal teams to resolve issues, maintain documentation, and support audit and compliance activities.

Job Requirements

Previous experience in customer service, supplier management, technical administration, food production or a similar coordination role.

Basic understanding of food safety, quality control/quality assurance and GMP principles. Training will be given to QC, QA and GMP.

Experience with checks, sampling, non-conformance management and corrective actions is desirable.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional and helpful telephone manner.

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Customer-focused, collaborative and proactive approach.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment and responding to time-sensitive requirements.

Knowledge of Japanese, Asian or ethnic food products would be advantageous but is not essential.

A positive, dynamic and flexible approach to working with colleagues across different teams.

Previous experience within the food, FMCG, manufacturing, distribution or supply chain sector would be advantageous.

Must speak and read Chinese or Japanese.

Job Responsibilities

Respond promptly and professionally to operational, supplier and customer enquiries.

Support the Technical Manager in delivering technical, food safety and compliance objectives.

Ensure day-to-day activities comply with relevant food safety legislation, company policies and SOPs.

Carry out regular site inspections and housekeeping checks to maintain required standards.

Monitor non-conformances, coordinate corrective actions and ensure issues are followed through to closure.

Coordinate customer complaints, investigate incidents and work with relevant teams to identify findings and solutions.

Regularly review records, forms and technical documentation, identifying gaps and following up on corrective actions.

Support audit preparation and ongoing compliance activities.

Coordinate technical and food safety requirements relating to production activities.

Work collaboratively with operational teams to maintain high standards across the site.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.

Manage multiple tasks efficiently and respond quickly to changing operational requirements.

Provide effective day-to-day coordination and administrative support to the Technical function.
