Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality learning activities for individuals, small groups and whole classes, including providing PPA cover.

Support pupils to engage positively in learning, develop independence and achieve their individual potential.

Ensure learning activities are adapted to meet pupils’ individual needs, abilities and interests.

Monitor, assess and record pupils’ progress and engagement, providing feedback to teachers and leaders.

Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils can access a broad and enriching curriculum.

Support curriculum continuity between the main school and satellite provision.

Work closely with teachers, HLTAs and support staff to provide consistent approaches to teaching and learning.

Support enrichment opportunities and ensure pupils have equal access to wider school activities and experiences.

Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents/carers and other professionals.

Maintain a safe, stimulating and well-organised learning environment.

Use ICT effectively to support learning and develop pupil independence.

Contribute to your own professional development and the wider work of the school.
