About this role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced and committed Occupational Therapist to join our unique and vibrant Therapy Team at the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead.
We are seeking a highly skilled Band 7 Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist to provide clinical leadership and operational management across our two elderly care wards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for elderly care, frailty and complex discharge planning to further develop their leadership and service development skills within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
The successful post holder will manage a complex clinical caseload, providing specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for patients with complex physical, cognitive and social needs. You will play a key role in service development, preventing deconditioning in frail older adults, promoting falls prevention, and improving patient outcomes. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate safe, timely and person-centred discharges, ensuring patients leave hospital with the appropriate support while maintaining effective patient flow across acute services.
The Therapies team at the Royal Free is innovative, creative and truly inter-disciplinary, focused on delivering high quality, patient centred care. Our team is friendly and supportive with a strong emphasis on supportive supervision, an active learning environment and a focus on staff welfare and teamwork using the “What matters to you?” framework.
You will need relevant clinical post registration experience of delivering Occupational Therapy in complex assessment and treatment intervention within the acute hospital setting, and state registration through the Health Care Professions Council. This position also requires excellent communication skills and extensive experience working within an inter-disciplinary team and interagency collaboration.
The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s biggest and most innovative trusts. Across three main hospitals, our dedicated army of staff care for over 1.6million patients, treat more than 200,000 in A&E, deliver over 8,000 babies and carry out more than 17million tests.
Our size, scale and influence offer you unrivalled career opportunities and a forward-thinking approach to working that works around your lifestyle. From flexible hours and generous benefits, to next level training, we make it easier to take your career to the top.
