Every new classroom adds something to your experience.

A different group of pupils, new colleagues and fresh challenges can all help you develop your strengths and discover where you want your teaching career to go next.

We're recruiting a Primary Education Teacher in Penzance for a full-time opportunity where you'll be able to make a positive contribution to children's education while continuing to strengthen your own professional experience.

You'll plan and deliver learning that gives pupils the right balance of support, encouragement and challenge.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Teaching lessons across the primary curriculum.
  • Planning activities around curriculum objectives and pupil needs.
  • Creating an organised and welcoming learning environment.
  • Adapting teaching for different abilities and additional needs.
  • Supporting pupils who require extra help with their learning.
  • Providing appropriate challenge for pupils ready to progress further.
  • Assessing work and monitoring individual development.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and classroom participation.
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and other professionals.
  • Communicating with parents and carers about pupil progress.

This opportunity can help you broaden your experience in curriculum delivery, assessment, SEND and inclusive teaching, classroom management, intervention work and pupil wellbeing.

Over time, this experience could also help you identify areas you'd like to specialise in, whether that's a particular curriculum subject, SEND, pastoral support or leadership.

We'd like to hear from teachers who have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching primary-aged pupils.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  • The ability to create purposeful and engaging lessons.
  • A flexible approach to different learning needs.
  • Good classroom management skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A willingness to collaborate and share ideas.
  • A commitment to helping every child make progress.

Applications from both ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome.

An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one, and satisfactory references will be required.

The role offers a daily rate of £150-£180, dependent on experience and qualifications.
