About this role

1:1 Teaching Assistant – Year 4 Some children don’t need someone to simply sit beside them in the classroom. They need someone who can understand how they communicate, recognise when things are becoming difficult, and help them access learning in a way that works for them.

We’re looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil in a welcoming primary school in Cheltenham. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting after the half term break, with no current end date.

The roleYou’ll work closely with the pupil and the wider school team to provide consistent, individualised support throughout the school day.

The pupil has Communication and Interaction needs and is working cognitively below the level of their peers. They will benefit from an adult who can provide patient, calm and consistent support, helping them to engage with classroom learning, develop their independence and feel confident within the school environment.

The role will also involve personal care, as the pupil currently requires support with toileting and wears pull-ups.
