We are seeking an attentive, reliable, and proactive

Sighted Guide to assist a student during their upcoming school-based teaching placement. This role is essential in ensuring the student can navigate the school environment safely and focus fully on their classroom teaching duties.

Key Responsibilities

Provide physical and spatial orientation support within the school, classrooms, and grounds.

Assist with navigation during busy school movements, assemblies, and playground duties.

Support the student in accessing physical educational materials and setting up learning spaces.

Maintain clear communication to convey visual cues in dynamic classroom environments.

Requirements

Primary School Experience

Previous experience working within a primary school setting is essential to understand daily routines, school layouts, and classroom dynamics.

Full-Time Availability

Must be available full-time for the complete duration of the placement (October through February).

PVG Scheme Member

Willingness to obtain or update a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme check prior to the start date.

Strong communication skills, patience, and a professional, supportive approach.
