Kitchen Porter/Caribbean Cuisine Assistant

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter / Caribbean Cuisine Assistant to join our small takeaway team in Dagenham, Essex. Working alongside our primary chef, cooking will be very limited, with the main focus being kitchen support, food preparation, customer service and front-of-house duties.

Duties include

• Assisting the chef with basic food preparation and kitchen duties.
• Keeping the kitchen, preparation areas and equipment clean and organised.
• Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Taking customer orders in person, by telephone and through online delivery platforms such as Just Eat and Uber Eats.
• Accurately reading and processing online orders and ensuring the correct meals are prepared and handed to customers or delivery drivers.
• Taking payments and handling cash/card transactions.
• Providing friendly, professional and welcoming customer service.
• Packing takeaway orders accurately and ensuring they are presented correctly.
• Restocking food, packaging and other supplies when required.
• Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.
• Supporting the chef and wider team to ensure the takeaway operates smoothly during busy periods.
