About this role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service's Protection Team as a Fire Safety Remediation Support Officer. The role provides proactive, accurate and customer-focused administrative support to Fire Safety Auditors and Fire Safety Inspecting Officers, helping them to deliver regulatory, enforcement and fire safety activities effectively.
You will play a key role in coordinating correspondence, maintaining records, monitoring statutory deadlines and supporting remediation programmes that contribute to improving building safety and protecting residents across Berkshire. The post supports the Government's objective to accelerate the remediation of buildings with significant fire safety risks while ensuring high standards of customer service and stakeholder engagement.
This is a varied role that requires excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy operational environment.
We are seeking a motivated and organised individual with excellent administrative and communication skills. You will enjoy working in a busy team environment, be able to manage multiple priorities and take pride in delivering a high standard of customer service.
You will have experience of providing administrative support within a busy office or customer-focused environment and be confident using Microsoft 365 applications, databases, shared mailboxes and electronic filing systems. You will possess strong organisational skills, have the ability to work accurately with sensitive information and demonstrate sound judgement when escalating matters appropriately.
The successful candidate will be able to build positive relationships with colleagues, partner organisations and members of the public while maintaining professionalism and discretion at all times
