About this role

Lecturer – Engineering

Part time, Fixed term until June 2027

Variable hours

£43,402 - £52,247 pro rata, per annum

UHI Perth is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.

We are looking for someone with a background in engineering to join our team to support the teaching of aviation and engineering programmes, from entry level to degree, across SCQF levels 5 - 10.

The campus is well resourced to deliver a first-class learning experience with a

well-balanced mix of lecture theatres, classrooms and laboratories.

As a lecturer you will contribute to shaping the future of the next generation of engineering through teaching and other scholarly activities.

Within your specialisation, you will prepare learning, teaching and assessment materials; deliver both theoretical and practical teaching; supervise student project work; and contribute to the ongoing development of our aviation and engineering programmes.

Candidates must hold, as a minimum, a degree in a relevant discipline, as the role requires teaching across a range of programmes up to and including degree level. Previous teaching experience is desirable, along with the ability to deliver learning across a broad range of engineering disciplines. Relevant industrial experience would be a significant advantage.

In addition, you should be a well-motivated self-starter with good communication skills who is able to work effectively with a team. A strong customer-focus and an awareness of the requirements of industry and working in a laboratory are essential

Sponsorship will not be available for this role.
