Thrive Education Group is recruiting a School Caretaker for a welcoming primary school in Huyton, East Liverpool.

You'll become the person who really knows the site - what needs checking, what needs fixing and what needs attention before it becomes a bigger problem.

Previous school experience isn't essential.

One Site. Plenty To Keep You Busy.

This isn't a job where you'll be doing the same task all day - you'll take responsibility for helping keep the school building and grounds safe, secure, well maintained and ready for use.

Your day could involve

• Completing minor repairs and general DIY.
• Carrying out regular checks around the building and grounds.
• Identifying faults, hazards and maintenance requirements.
• Opening and securing the premises when required.
• Managing keys, access and site security.
• Checking heating, lighting, water and other building services.
• Keeping paths, playgrounds and external areas safe.
• Liaising with contractors when specialist work is needed.
• Supporting health and safety and compliance checks.
• Setting up spaces for school activities and events.
• Dealing with unexpected maintenance issues.
• Keeping straightforward maintenance and inspection records.

You'll have the freedom to organise your workload, prioritise jobs and take pride in seeing the site properly looked after.

Your Experience Could Come From Somewhere Completely Different

You don't have to already be a School Caretaker. You could currently be working in

• Property or housing maintenance.
• Facilities or estates.
• Construction or building services.
• General maintenance.
• A practical trade.
• Site services.
• Mobile maintenance or multi-site facilities.

Perhaps you're ready to stop moving between different sites and would prefer somewhere you can get to know, look after and take genuine ownership of.

You'll need good general DIY and maintenance skills, along with the ability to work independently and use your initiative.

We're also looking for someone who is reliable, organised and responsible, with a good understanding of health and safety and the confidence to communicate with school staff, visitors and contractors.
