Cyber Security Specialist

We are a growing UK software company building secure cloud-based platforms for business clients. As our products and client base grow, we are looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to protect our systems, data and customers.

The role

You will be responsible for the security of our applications, cloud infrastructure and internal systems. You'll work closely with our development team and management to identify risks, put the right controls in place and respond to threats.

Key responsibilities

Monitor systems, networks and cloud environments for security threats and suspicious activity

Carry out vulnerability assessments and coordinate penetration testing, and track fixes to completion

Review application code, configurations and cloud set-up for security weaknesses

Develop and maintain security policies, procedures and access controls

Lead incident response, including investigation, containment, reporting and lessons learned

Ensure compliance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and frameworks such as Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001

Manage user access, multi-factor authentication, encryption and backup controls

Assess the security of third-party suppliers and integrations

Train staff in security awareness, including phishing and safe data handling

Report on security risks, incidents and improvements to senior management
