This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated Podiatrist to join our friendly and dynamic team committed to delivering the best podiatric care, providing a range of foot health services encompassing all aspects of MSK podiatry. You will treat patients with complex MSK foot and ankle conditions in specialist clinics including rheumatology, footwear clinics, triage services and nail surgery. You will also provide specialist podiatry input to the inpatient setting at Broadgreen. You will be supported to develop your skills in this specialism, identifying your learning needs and areas of interest. As a Band 6 Podiatrist you will be involved in the clinical education of staff and students. You will work closely with the Diabetes Podiatry Team and the wider foot and ankle services including physiotherapy, orthotics and orthopaedics. We will provide an individualised training programme, and our staff are encouraged and supported in their CPD through workshops and clinical supervision. Participation in audit and research is encouraged. We are looking for someone keen to develop in the field of MSK podiatry. Recruitment under Annex 21 conditions will be considered to support achievement of key role competencies if not already demonstrable, see detail below.

You will be expected to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate podiatric care for a variety of clinical conditions. You will be required to have good understanding, clinical reasoning skills and practical skills in MSK / biomechanical assessment and orthotic prescriptions, vascular assessment, wound management and nail surgery.

You will take an active role in service development and evaluation in order to drive continuous improvement of the service.

This post is advertised as a Band 6, however applicants who do not currently demonstrate all the necessary competencies to a Band 6 level are encouraged to apply and if successful will be appointed under Annex 21 rules. Depending on the competencies required, you will be paid at 70-75% of top rate of Band 6 pay and once competencies are achieved will move to the Band 6 pay scale (minimum point on scale). Local protection would be put in place for any candidate where Annex 21 would result in a pay reduction.
