About this role

Oxford University Hospital NHS Trust is investing in its Clinical Coding Department and is looking to recruit an experienced Clinical Coder to join our well-established team.

To apply you must have at least 2 years’ experience in coding using ICD 10 & OPCS classifications as well as having an excellent knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

The Clinical Coding department has its own Working from Home Local Agreement which gives the candidate the opportunity to work remotely, this is available upon request dependent on certain Trust and Department criteria.

The Clinical Coding Team is responsible for the extraction and translation of inpatient information using the ICD-10 and OPCS-4 Coding Classifications. This information is essential for the effective management of the Trust and crucial to the National Tariff Payment System that underpins Trust income. Coded data is also important for clinical audit, governance and research.

As part of the role, you will be expected to interact with clinicians, operational staff and have responsibility for your own work load whilst maintaining accurate clinical coding quality.
