HGV Technician – Gloucester

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Heavy Vehicle Technician or HGV Mechanic to join an established workshop in Gloucester. Applicants must hold a Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent), have previous HGV or commercial vehicle experience and have the right to work in the UK. A Full UK Driving Licence and Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence are preferred but not essential.

Salary

£17.00 - £18.33 per hour, with higher rates available subject to experience and qualifications

Hours

Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week, approximately 8:00am–5:00pm - Can be flexible

Overtime

Paid at 1.25x basic rate

HGV Technician Role

• Service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
• Carry out preventative maintenance inspections
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and rectify defects
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults
• Complete repairs to required workshop standards
• Maintain accurate job cards and workshop records

HGV Technician Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician
• Strong mechanical, servicing and diagnostic skills
• Right to work in the UK
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred
• Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence preferred but not essential
• Ancillary equipment qualifications or experience would be advantageous
