Cover People are currently recruiting Sports Coaches for day-to-day and short-term supply work across schools in Bury.

These roles are ideal for Sports Coaches, Sports Graduates and qualified coaches looking for flexible school-based work, with the potential for regular bookings and longer-term opportunities becoming available.

The majority of positions will initially be day-to-day or short-term cover, although successful candidates may have the opportunity to move into longer-term placements where schools have an ongoing need.

Depending on the school and your experience, you could be supporting with

• Delivering and assisting with PE lessons and sporting activities
• Leading small-group sports sessions and interventions
• Covering PE lessons when required
• Supporting pupils across a range of sports and abilities
• Encouraging teamwork, confidence, discipline and positive behaviour
• Supporting extracurricular activities, clubs and school events
• Providing general classroom or Teaching Assistant support where required
• Building positive relationships with pupils and school staff
• Maintaining a safe, inclusive and engaging environment

We're looking for Sports Coaches who are confident working with children and young people and can bring energy and enthusiasm into a school environment.

You could have a background in

• Football
• Rugby
• Athletics
• Basketball
• Cricket
• Fitness or personal training
• Sports coaching
• Youth work
• PE or Sports Science

A relevant sports qualification, coaching badge or degree is desirable, but strong practical experience working with children and young people will also be considered.

You'll need good communication skills, confidence managing groups and a positive approach to supporting pupils.
