Senior Planning Officer

What's involved with this role

Triumph Consultants are looking for an experienced Senior Planning Officer to manage a varied caseload of planning applications. You will assess complex applications, provide professional planning advice and make decisions in line with planning policy and legislation. Contract is for 3 months in St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL1 3JE.

£35.21 per hour PAYE

Hours per week

37 Monday - Friday

Hybrid working, 1 day per week in office

Basic DBS required for this role

Key requirements

Significant experience in development management and planning applications.

Experience handling small-scale major, complex minor and household applications.

Strong knowledge of planning policy, including Green Belt policy.

Confident working independently and managing a varied workload.

Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.

Key responsibilities

Manage a caseload of planning applications from assessment through to decision.

Prepare clear reports and recommendations for planning decisions.

Lead negotiations and provide planning advice on applications, appeals and enforcement cases.

Work with applicants, agents, stakeholders and internal teams.

Maintain a high standard of performance while managing changing priorities.
