Health and Safety Advisor

I am currently recruiting for a hands-on Temporary Health & Safety Officer to support a busy public sector environmental services team through a period of change and project activity.

This is a practical, site-based role where you'll work closely with operational teams, frontline workers, managers and the Wellbeing Manager to provide additional H&S support across a diverse range of services.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of health & safety across fleet, waste and environmental services operations
• Carry out workplace inspections, audits and monitoring activities
• Assist with incident and accident investigations, identifying root causes and recommending improvements
• Support managers with risk assessments, safe systems of work and compliance activities
• Provide practical health & safety advice to operational teams
• Promote positive safety behaviours and help strengthen safety culture across the workforce
• Monitor compliance with policies, procedures and statutory requirements
• Support health & safety projects and improvement initiatives during a period of organisational change
• Build strong relationships with employees, supervisors and managers to drive engagement

About You

• NEBOSH General Certificate
• Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within operational or frontline environments
• Comfortable working across varied environments including fleet, heavy plant, waste management or similar services
• Strong investigation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Practical, approachable and able to influence people at all levels
• Available to start at short notice or within a reasonable timeframe

The pay rate for this role is £26-£30
