HGV1 Tramper Driver

Duties

Safely operate HGV 1 flatbed trucks on long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations

Load, secure, and unload goods with precision, ensuring cargo is transported safely and efficiently

Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety standards

Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries, adjusting as needed for traffic or weather conditions

Complete accurate delivery documentation and logs for each trip

Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered

Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing the company on the road

Qualifications

Valid HGV 1 (Class 1) license with a clean driving record

Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed or similar vehicles

Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety procedures for large vehicles

Delivery driver experience preferred, with excellent time management skills

Ability to perform physical tasks such as securing loads and handling cargo safely

Good communication skills to coordinate with dispatch and customers effectively

Flexibility to undertake tramping shifts that may involve overnight stays and extended periods away from home
