Senior Accounts Assistant

We are seeking a Senior Accounts Assistant to join a well-established business in Chelmsford, Essex. This Senior Accounts Assistant role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled finance professional to support the Accounts Manager and contribute to the financial operations of a reputable organisation within the retail motor industry. Duties

• Supporting the Accounts Manager by maintaining sales and purchase ledgers
• Posting and allocating cash transactions accurately as the Senior Accounts Assistant
• Reconciling control accounts to ensure financial integrity
• Assisting with month-end processes and reporting
• Contributing to the preparation of accounts up to trial balance
• Collaborating with operational teams to ensure compliance and accuracy of financial data

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounts or finance, ideally within the retail motor industry
• Solid knowledge of general accountancy procedures and control account reconciliation
• Proficiency in Excel and IT skills; experience with Sage Accounting software is essential
• Keyloop Dealer Management System expertise is required
• Knowledge of Kerridge/CDK systems is highly desirable for the Senior Accounts Assistant
• Working towards or qualified in AAT, ACA, CIMA, or ACCA
• Strong attention to detail, honesty, and integrity, with a passion for delivering high-quality financial work
